Mini Savage Garden Care Guide

🌿 Mini Savage Garden: Easy Care Guide

Congratulations—you’re officially the caretaker of your own Mini Savage Garden! Here’s a quick, friendly guide to keeping your plants happy and healthy.

☀️ Sunshine is Key!

  • Your Savage Garden needs 8+ hours of direct sun daily.
  • More sun means happier, healthier plants.

💧 Watering Tips

  • Keep the provided clip-on tray filled with water at all times.
  • Use only distilled or rainwater—available in-store. Tap water causes mineral buildup that harms plants over time.
  • Never let your plants dry out; they love moisture.

❄️ Winter Rest (Don’t Panic!)

  • Venus Flytraps and Pitcher Plants naturally slow down growth during winter—it’s their seasonal rest.
  • Keep watering normally and provide as much winter sunlight as possible.
  • Protect your garden from frost—Cape Sundews are frost-tender. Bring them indoors if nighttime temperatures drop below 10°C.
  • They'll spring back into action as soon as warmer weather returns!

🇿🇦 Why Cape Sundews?

  • Each Mini Savage Garden includes a Cape Sundew (Drosera capensis)—a vibrant, locally native plant.
  • This South African gem grows actively year-round, keeping your garden interesting even in cooler months.

🌸 Repotting Made Simple

  • Repot yearly into fresh carnivorous plant soil around August.
  • Use our deluxe carnivorous plant soil mix—perfectly crafted for your carnivorous plants (available online).
  • Water thoroughly after repotting.
