Hydroball, also known as LECA (Lightweight Expandable Clay Aggregate) is an excellent growth medium for plants, herbs and vegetables in an Hydroponic, Aquaponic or Conventional environment.

In the carnivorous world, Hydroball serves as an excellent addition to growing media for nepenthes, heliamphora and cobra lilies.  Adding these clay pellets to your growing media help facilitate drainage and also keep Cobra Lily- and Sun Pitcher's roots from overheating. Hydroball can also be used as an alternative to washed silica sand or perlite for mixes that tend to compact fragile roots
