Venus flytrap

One of the traps on my Venus was already black when I got it at delivery place. Please read the care instructions carefully before you buy the plant so that you can buy the carnivorous soil with the plant if you only buy bareroot. And it only uses distilled water or rain water. I've been trying to care well for my venus flytrap but one of the other traps is also starting to die. Please read carefully how to care for a Carnivorous plant before you buy one because they need different care than other plants and soil. Other than that service of Cultivo was fast and efficient.

Description

The most famous carnivorous plant:  The Venus Flytrap

Plant Description
  • Species: Dionaea Muscipula
  • No carnivorous plant collection is complete without at least ONE venus fly trap.  Featured here is a random mix of seedgrown venus flytraps, straight from our own breeding and propagation program, herewith known as 'typicals'
  • The typical form of venus flytraps is mostly green with medium to large sized traps sporting a pink to red tint inside when grown outside in full sunlight. However, these seed originals are by no means just typical....some plants have an upright growing habit while others grow in a tight rosette close to the soil level, colours are highly variable and trap morphology may differ
  • Hand selected from the most vigorous and hardy batches - what more do you need in a snappy carnivorous plant? Highly recommended for any level venus fly trap enthusiast
  • Bite-size info:
    • 🏡 Full sun, outdoors
    • 📅 Growing season: October to April
    • 🌱Mature size: 10-15cm
    • 🏆Recommended for: All levels carnivorous plant enthusiasts
    • ℹ️Price is for a single plant and is available either bareroot or potted as per your preference

THE OPTIONS

Sizes
  • Whether you prefer starting off with a younger plant and watching it grow over the years into full majestic glory or jumping in with more munch, right from the get go, we've got you covered! Cultivo is all about choices and our plants are available in various sizes and options to suit your every need
  • These are 3+ year old (3-5cm) to 5+ years (near-flowering size) plants, sold either bareroot or ready to grow - already potted in our deluxe carnivorous plant soil, without the need for repotting and acclimatisation on your end.   The size on offer refers to the maximum size your plant will reach during the current or upcoming growing season
Bareroot or potted?
  • Potted plants are sent with a protective covering and will be good in this soil for another 6-9 months.  Planter sizes are selected in relation to plant size and range from 7.5cm to 10cm pots unless otherwise mentioned
  • Bare root plants are for those who wish to pot up and acclimatise their own plants.  Plants and winter bulbs are cleaned, cut back, rinsed and sent in a protective covering with roots wrapped in damp paper towels
  • Still in need of special potting soil? Pick up some of our deluxe premixed growing media for venus fly traps here
