Pinguicula 'Weser' is a compact hybrid butterwort officially registered in 1998, created from a cross between Pinguicula ehlersiae and P. moranensis. It's one of the most popular Mexican Pinguicula in cultivation — perfect for windowsills, terrariums, and under grow lights.
'Weser' shares the same parentage as 'Sethos' — both are hybrids of Pinguicula ehlersiae × P. moranensis. The main difference lies in the flowers: 'Weser' shows slightly more striping in its soft pink blooms, making it a subtle but distinct cultivar
Originally imported from Christian Klein in Germany, this cultivar has steadily grown in popularity across South Africa — and thanks to our careful growing process, we’re able to offer well-established plants from our own collection
This is a flowering-size plant, fully grown to approximately 8–10cm across, and acclimatised to South African conditions. You’ll receive the exact specimen pictured.

💬 Quick FAQ
How do I get that beautiful dark pink colour?
Lots of bright light! To bring out Weser’s rich pink tones, grow it outdoors in semi-shade or under a full-spectrum LED in a terrarium. The more light it gets, the more vibrant those leaves become
