Cephalotus follicularis 'Wilhelma'
A premium collector clone of the famous Albany Pitcher Plant, offered here as a well-established rooted basal division from our original Christian Klein mother plant. Cephalotus follicularis 'Wilhelma' is valued for its ability to produce larger-than-average pitchers with bold ribbed peristomes and rich dark colouration under strong full-spectrum lighting.
This exact plant is already producing its first adult pitchers and has been grown on until fully established. Unlike bare-root divisions, it is supplied pre-planted in our 10cm high-drainage pot using our own Cephalotus PROmix, finished with live sphagnum moss top dressing and ready to continue growing from day one.

About the photographs
The first photographs show the exact Wilhelma basal division currently available.
The final photographs show our original Christian Klein mother plant and are included as a reference for the large pitcher size, heavy ribbed peristomes and dark purple colouration this clone can develop under strong full-spectrum LED lighting.
How it ships
This plant ships pre-planted in its 10cm high-drainage pot. The root system stays undisturbed, which is especially important for Cephalotus, as they dislike unnecessary root disturbance. The plant is packed securely to keep the pot, soil and growth point protected in transit.
Growing notes
Cephalotus prefers bright light, excellent drainage and stable conditions. This plant is already fully acclimatised to South African growing conditions and is suitable for a bright windowsill, terrarium, greenhouse cabinet or dedicated grow-light setup with good airflow.
Under strong full-spectrum LED lighting, Wilhelma can colour up dramatically, producing deep purple to almost black pitchers. In lower light it may stay greener, often with larger, softer-coloured pitchers.
Quick FAQ
What plant will I receive?
You receive the exact plant photographed — a well-established rooted basal division of Cephalotus follicularis 'Wilhelma' with first adult pitchers developing.
Is this plant already potted?
Yes. It is supplied pre-planted in our 10cm high-drainage pot using Cephalotus PROmix with live sphagnum moss top dressing.
Why is it supplied potted?
Cephalotus dislike root disturbance, so sending this plant pre-planted helps keep the root system stable and makes the plant easier to settle in after delivery.
How dark will it become?
Colour depends strongly on light. Under strong full-spectrum LED lighting, this clone can develop deep purple to almost black pitchers. In lower light it will usually remain greener.
Is this suitable for a terrarium?
Yes, provided there is good airflow and the setup does not stay overly wet. Cephalotus enjoy stable conditions, bright light and excellent drainage.
Can I only buy one?
Yes. This is a once-off collector listing featuring the exact plant shown in the photographs.

Why do you use Pargo instead of PUDO?
We partner with Pargo because it forms part of our approved fragile-goods courier network. Parcels are stored indoors at local businesses, protected from heat, direct sunlight and the weather until collection. It's an excellent option if you're not home during the day or prefer collecting your parcel when it's convenient.

- Just a quick heads-up: Since plants are natural products, you might notice some slight variations when unboxing your plants
- We do our best to make sure the plants you receive look like the ones in the photos, but keep in mind that seasons change and plants grow. Some leaves might age and die off, new ones might sprout and the plants may look a bit different over time
- Cultivo is a boutique-style store and 99% of what we sell are one-of-a-kind collector items, so you will receive the exact plant pictured. Some are once-off or limited releases, which means they are available only while stocks last. The labels are spot on, so even if the plant looks a bit different, we 100% guarantee it’s the real deal
- Also, all the photos you see are of our own plants unless we mention otherwise. We update images occasionally to keep things fresh. If you want to see updated pictures before you buy, just let us know - we’re happy to help!
