Cephalotus follicularis 'Wilhelma'

A premium collector clone of the famous Albany Pitcher Plant, offered here as a well-established rooted basal division from our original Christian Klein mother plant. Cephalotus follicularis 'Wilhelma' is valued for its ability to produce larger-than-average pitchers with bold ribbed peristomes and rich dark colouration under strong full-spectrum lighting.

This exact plant is already producing its first adult pitchers and has been grown on until fully established. Unlike bare-root divisions, it is supplied pre-planted in our 10cm high-drainage pot using our own Cephalotus PROmix, finished with live sphagnum moss top dressing and ready to continue growing from day one.

How it ships

This plant ships pre-planted in its 10cm high-drainage pot. The root system stays undisturbed, which is especially important for Cephalotus, as they dislike unnecessary root disturbance. The plant is packed securely to keep the pot, soil and growth point protected in transit.

Growing notes

Cephalotus prefers bright light, excellent drainage and stable conditions. This plant is already fully acclimatised to South African growing conditions and is suitable for a bright windowsill, terrarium, greenhouse cabinet or dedicated grow-light setup with good airflow.

Under strong full-spectrum LED lighting, Wilhelma can colour up dramatically, producing deep purple to almost black pitchers. In lower light it may stay greener, often with larger, softer-coloured pitchers.
