Will this be restocked?
  • At Cultivo, every release is carefully selected and grown with purpose. We don’t mass restock - most plants are small-batch, seasonal or one-of-a-kind “exact plant pictured” pieces. Once they’re sold, they’re truly gone. That’s why you won’t see a typical “email me when available” option on these listings
  • Some seasonal items or small-batch variants may return in the future. If that happens, we’ll update the original listing with new photos and details

🌱 Miniature Orchids for Terrariums & Paludariums 🌱

Limited Release ~ Available while current stocks last

Our selection of miniature and small epiphytic orchids is perfect for terrariums, paludariums and planted scapes. Epiphytes are "air plants" that grow on top of other plants or objects, using them merely for physical support. These orchids grow above the waterline or soil, preventing them from becoming waterlogged. They are small types, typically reaching 5–15cm in height, making them ideal for small spaces and as companion plants in carnivorous plant terrariums

These plants come either potted or mounted on small pieces of cork bark and you will receive the exact plant pictured. They're sent bubble-wrapped, carefully packed and protected to prevent damage during transit

❤️ General Care Instructions for miniature orchids:

  • Fertiliser: These orchids are light feeders - feed lightly with a high-quality, ammonia-free orchid fertiliser or a gentle nitrogen-rich foliar spray every few weeks
  • Growing Mediums: These epiphytes can stay mounted on their cork bark or be gently removed and attached to wood or rock in your terrarium or paludarium. They also thrive on clean driftwood, mopani wood, spiderwood, lava rock or artificial mounts. A layer of long-fiber sphagnum moss or coir helps retain moisture You can find plant glue and long-fiber sphagnum moss in our online store
  • Light: Some orchids, such as Sarcochilus, Phalaenopsis and Tolumnia, do well under low natural or artificial light. Dendrobiums and Vandas prefer brighter, indirect light. If using LED lights, position them directly under the lights for optimal growth. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent overheating in terrariums or paludariums
  • Watering & Humidity: Mounted orchids absorb moisture through their roots from the air. The easiest way is to soak the whole mount in clean water for about 10 minutes every 2–3 days, allowing the roots to dry slightly between waterings. If mounted in an open terrarium or paludarium, gently drench the moss and roots in place by misting or pouring water at the base - no need to remove the mount. For optimum results, lightly mist the entire plant - leaves and roots - with Magic Mist™, our gentle organic plant tonic, every 2 weeks to boost growth
  • Flowering: These miniature orchids are not yet in bloom and should flower within 6 to 12 months under the right conditions, including proper light, temperature, humidity, watering and feeding
