Will this be restocked?
  • At Cultivo, every release is carefully selected and grown with purpose. We don’t mass restock - most plants are small-batch, seasonal or one-of-a-kind “exact plant pictured” pieces. Once they’re sold, they’re truly gone. That’s why you won’t see a typical “email me when available” option on these listings
  • Some seasonal items or small-batch variants may return in the future. If that happens, we’ll update the original listing with new photos and details

Product Details

Nepenthes boschiana × adrianii

A striking Wistuba hybrid combining two outstanding Bornean species. This plant originated from a special import from Wistuba and represents an Individual Seedling Clone (ISC) selected from seed-grown stock. Over the years it matured into an established collector specimen and served as the source plant for selected rooted cuttings.

One of the most attractive features of this hybrid is the way it combines traits from both parents. The pitcher body closely resembles Nepenthes boschiana, while the distinctive corrugated peristome inherited from Nepenthes adrianii remains clearly visible. New pitchers often open with bright red colouring before gradually darkening to rich maroon and purple tones as they mature.

What makes this plant stand out

  • Special import from Wistuba, Germany — sourced from one of the world's most respected Nepenthes nurseries
  • Individual Seedling Clone (ISC) — selected from seed-grown stock with unique genetics
  • Outstanding pitcher development — broad red peristomes darken dramatically as pitchers mature
  • Distinctive corrugated peristome — inherited from Nepenthes adrianii and retained strongly in this hybrid
  • Established collector specimen — mature plant with proven growth and pitcher production
  • One plant, one listing — WYSIWYG; the exact plant photographed was offered for sale

Shipped bareroot — the collector's way

This plant was shipped bareroot with roots wrapped in moist sphagnum moss. Bareroot shipping reduces transit stress, protects the root system and allows immediate transplanting into the grower's preferred setup.

Growing notes

An easy intermediate Nepenthes that adapts well to typical South African growing conditions. It performs particularly well in bright indoor growing spaces, terrariums, grow tents and greenhouses where humidity and airflow are balanced.

Like many Wistuba hybrids, it combines excellent vigour with the distinctive features that make its parent species so desirable among collectors.
