Product Details
Description
- Species: Drosera
- Drosera Capensis Triffid Rose is a hybrid between the typical and red forms of Capensis. Native to South Africa, the cape sundew (also known as the octopus plant) grows vigorously and produces rather large leaves at maturity
- Each leaf is covered with sticky gooey dew. When an insect lands on it, the leaf slowly curls around it to get the most out of the insect
- As a mountainous species, this plant likes a very sunny window with mild temperatures. It may slow down significantly during the hottest parts of summer, but watch it take off again when the weather cools down
- Fantastic candidate for beginner carnivorous plant enthusiasts
- D. Capensis cv Triffid Rose is a high-end collector plant and only available while current stocks last
- Whether you prefer starting off with a younger plant and watch it grow into full majestic glory over the years or jumping in with more munch, right from the get go, we've got you covered! Cultivo is all about choices and our plants are available in various sizes and options to suit your every need. These are medium to near-flowering size plants, sold either bareroot or already potted in our deluxe carnivorous plant soil to take the hassle out of repotting. Simply unwrap, water and enjoy!
Care
- Cape Sundews do not require a dormancy period and will grow throughout the year
- As a mountainous species, this plant likes a very sunny window with mild temperatures. It may slow down significantly during the hottest parts of summer, but watch it take off again when the weather cools down
- Flowering requires a lot of energy and might cause your plant to lose it's dew - Cut flower stalks when they emerge for a healthier, dewy plant
