Will this be restocked?
- At Cultivo, every release is carefully selected and grown with purpose. We don’t mass restock - most plants are small-batch, seasonal or one-of-a-kind “exact plant pictured” pieces. Once they’re sold, they’re truly gone. That’s why you won’t see a typical “email me when available” option on these listings
- Some seasonal items or small-batch variants may return in the future. If that happens, we’ll update the original listing with new photos and details

Description
- The Dancing Plant (*Codariocalyx motorius*) – also called the Telegraph Plant – is one of nature’s most extraordinary curiosities.
- This tropical Asian shrub is alive with movement: its small leaves literally dance in response to music, sound, warmth and light – a living showpiece for your collection.
- At night, just like the sensitive plant, its leaves gently fold inwards and rest – another magical feature to enjoy.
- Extremely rare in South Africa – this is a once-off release with only 1 live plant available!
Shipping
- This plant is fully established (13–15cm) and will be sent already potted to minimise root disturbance.
- Securely packed and protected for safe courier delivery – or collect in Centurion if you prefer.
Care
- Loves a sunny, sheltered spot or bright windowsill with 4–6 hours of morning sun.
- Keep the soil evenly moist (never bone-dry, never soggy) – water every other day in summer.
- Best grown in a free-draining mix of compost + potting soil with added perlite or silica sand.
- Tropical by nature: protect from frost in winter and watch it burst back into growth each spring.
- Feed monthly with a nitrogen-rich fertiliser for vigorous growth and more dancing leaves.
