Product Details

This is another established plug of Utricularia sandersonii — the classic, easy-growing terrestrial bladderwort known for its adorable “bunny-eared” flowers. This listing features a different 2cm plug from the same original BCP import batch — and you'll receive the exact plant pictured.

Native to southern Africa, U. sandersonii grows quickly in high-humidity environments, forming a dense mat of tiny green leaves and producing small, snapdragon-like flowers on thin upright stalks. It’s a firm favourite among both beginners and experienced carnivorous plant collectors.

Like all bladderworts, this species uses tiny underground suction traps to catch and digest microscopic prey — though most growers keep it for the floral display. Once settled, it can flower multiple times a year with little effort.

This 2cm plug has been grown out at Cultivo and is fully rooted and ready to pot up in your preferred substrate.

🪴 Growing Tips & Care Info

  • 🔆 Best in semi-shade or bright filtered light
  • 🌿 Perfect for terrariums, moss trays, or carnivorous plant bogs
  • 🪴 Use Bladderwort PROmix™ or moist shredded sphagnum moss
  • 💧 Keep soil consistently moist – do not allow to dry out
  • 💦 Tray method: 0.5–1cm of rain, RO, or distilled water

This cheerful bladderwort is easy to care for and flowers freely in warm, stable conditions. Great as a companion plant or standalone feature.

🌸 Flowering Info

The standard form of Utricularia sandersonii produces small, pale violet flowers with a bunny-like shape. It can bloom regularly during spring and summer — and often year-round in high-humidity setups.

This plant is part of our original BCP import and has been personally grown out at Cultivo. It is fully acclimatised and released in limited quantities — you'll receive the exact plug shown.

Bladderworts like this are ideal for beginners, terrarium setups, and collectors looking for something that flowers frequently and spreads quickly.
