A Giant Red Venus Flytrap with Serious Collector Appeal

Venus Flytrap ‘Red Purple’ is a sought-after giant cultivar originally from Triffid Park, Australia, known for its intense deep red colouration, impressive trap size and strong vigorous growth during the growing season.

This mature collector specimen develops rich blood-red interiors and striking red teeth in full sun, giving it a dramatic appearance similar to famous giant cultivars like B52 and Purple Ambush.

Fully Acclimatised for South African Conditions

This plant has been fully acclimatised outdoors in South Africa and is already well established. Unlike fresh imports, it is adapted to local growing conditions and seasonal changes.

Current Winter Appearance

The plant is currently in its natural winter dormancy phase, meaning growth slows down and traps become smaller during the colder months. Once spring arrives, it will wake up again and produce large vigorous summer growth reaching around 10–12cm across.
